CAPS Families, Cadillac Area Public Schools will be closed in observance of President's Day on Monday, Feb 19th. School will be closed Tuesday Feb 20-Friday Feb 23 for Winter Break. Students preregistered for Winter Break activities refer to your confirmation for instructions.

Dear Parents/Guardians of 8th-grade students! CHS Counselors will be in Mr. Rumohr’s and Mr. Hall’s Social Studies classes on Tuesday, February 13, and Wednesday, February 14, to meet with all 8th-grade students to complete Educational Development Plans as well as make course requests for their 9th-grade schedule. Course requests will be made on these days but students and parents will be able to view these requests on Parent Portal. Any changes may be requested by email to your student’s assigned CHS counselor. CAPS CREW has two great opportunities coming up for our MTMS students! *Our 3D printing class in December filled up so quickly, we are opening up another workshop! Students will work with Mr. Cooper to learn how to design and print their own creations using 3D software. It runs February 26-29 from 2:25-4:30. *Has your child ever wanted to publish a book? Now is their chance! Students will work together to write and illustrate a class book in this brand new CAPS CREW opportunity! Retired CAPS teacher Dave Foley, along with Miss Marla Courtney, will help students write and illustrate a real book! At the end of the six week workshop, we will send all of the material in to have it published into a full-color standard book that each student will get to take home! We will meet every Wednesday from February 28th until April 10th (skipping Spring Break) from 2:25-4:30pm. You can register for either of these CAPS CREW workshops at www.cadillacschools.org/crew

CAPS CREW has three new opportunities coming up for our Middle School students! -Cheer: MTMS cheer starts on Monday! Participants will learn how to do stunts, jumps, kicks, cheers & chants. They will practice twice a week and then cheer at two of the Middle School boys' basketball games. This workshop runs November 20th-December 13th on Mondays and Wednesdays. *There will be a second cheer session in January, registration for that is also open. -Babysitting: CREW is teaming up with Wexford County 4-H to teach our Middle School students what it takes to become a successful babysitter. They'll learn personal safety, child development, and the business aspect of babysitting. These lesson runs November 27th-December 1st. -3-D Printing: In this course students will learn how to be “makers” by using various types of 3-D modeling software and imaging equipment. They will get to print and keep physical objects that they have designed and modeled themselves. This course runs December 11th-15th.
