sinking fund information
CAPS Families and Cadillac Community,
On May 5, we are asking the community to consider a sinking fund proposal designed to support the long-term care of school facilities. The timing of the proposal aligns with the reduction of existing debt, allowing the district to shift its focus toward ongoing maintenance without increasing the overall tax rate.
This funding, if approved, can only be used for major maintenance projects and cannot be applied to daily operating expenses or salaries.
Over the next 10 years, the primary focus of this initiative would be to replace roofs across the district.
We encourage all eligible voters to participate in this important decision. Your voice matters in shaping the future of our schools and ensuring we protect funds for student programs and maintain safe, dry, and well-functioning learning environments for all students.
The graphic shows how the Sinking Fund will be used and the cost to taxpayers.  This Sinking Fund FAQ provides additional information that you may find helpful.
We’ve made important investments in CAPS buildings and appreciate your support in helping maintain them for the future.
