FV would like to send a BIG THANK YOU to the Kiomento family for spending time this weekend cutting and cleaning up a tree that had fallen on our nature trail. We appreciate your help!

FV families: The Amy Hutton Scholarship fundraiser is happening now! Mrs. Hutton was a teacher here at Forest View and we give away a scholarship (money for college) to a senior who went to FV. Remember that we have classroom and individual competitions and the fundraiser ends this week on Friday! We are asking everyone to donate at least $5 to run in the color run on June 3rd. Good things are happening here!

If you have a child turning 5 by December 1, 2025 it is TIME TO ENROLL for Kindergarten! Call the office if you have any questions and share this with anyone you may know who has a child ready for Kindergarten!
Frequently Asked Questions - CAPS Kindergarten Enrollment
What if my child turns 5 after September 1st? If your child turns 5 between September 1st-December 1st you can fill out an age waiver, that form can be picked up at the elementary schools.
What if my child turns 5 after December 1st? They cannot enroll in kindergarten this year, but they can enroll in our free GSRP program! The link to that enrollment form is here: GSRP Enrollment
Once I fill out the enrollment form, what happens next? You will receive a call, email, or letter home from the school assigning a time for you to attend Round-Up. You may also receive an email after filling out the form if they are missing any documentation.
What if I can't make my scheduled Round-Up time? Please call the school to reschedule.
Does my child need to attend Round-Up? Yes, both the parent and child should attend so they can see the school and meet the teachers.
Is this my only opportunity to enroll my child and see the school? We only hold one Round-Up per year for families to visit the school, but we do take enrollment forms all year long.
What can we expect at Kindergarten Round-Up? You will receive a tour of the building and meet the kindergarten teachers. There will be an opportunity to fill out and turn in paperwork, take photos and your child will receive a free t-shirt.
What if I want my child to attend a different CAPS school than what is assigned to our neighborhood? You can complete an in-district transfer form. However, it is not guaranteed that your child will be able to switch schools. Each request is reviewed and approved/denied based on current enrollment numbers. We do ask that you attend Round-Up at the school assigned to your home address.
*Please note: school busing is not provided if you choose to send your child to a school other than the one assigned to your home address.
How do I set up transportation? You will receive information in a back-to-school letter that will give you information regarding this. If you have questions, you can call the bus garage at 231- 876-5050.
When is the first day of school? CAPS students start school on August 25, 2025; however, we use the first day of school as an orientation for kindergarteners and their parents to ease into the transition of school.
When will I know who my child will have as a teacher? Teacher assignments are typically given out in mid-August.
