Subject: Hazard Pay Update

Cadillac Area Public Schools has identified and emailed eligible classroom teachers and support staff Form 5734 on November 9, 2020.

Statement to Staff:

The Michigan Department of Treasury and Cadillac Area Public Schools fully understand that staff outside of this grant put in extra hours to ensure school operations could continue when in-person instruction was suspended in the spring.

However, state law outlines how the Teacher and Support Staff COVID-19 Grant programs are administered.  State law is very specific about who is eligible for a grant.

We apologize for these circumstances and understand any frustration that this may cause.

Appeal Process:

You have the opportunity to appeal in writing if:

  1. You feel you are qualified, but were not contacted as an eligible classroom teacher or support staff.
  2. You feel the FTE (full-time equivalency) is incorrect.

All written appeals must be submitted in writing no later than December 4, 2020 to Emily Kearney, 421 S Mitchell, Cadillac, MI  49601.
