Welcome to Mackinaw Trail Middle School

It is an honor to serve as principal of Mackinaw Trail Middle School (MTMS.)  It is my hope that as the year progresses you will get to know your child’s teaching staff, the programs and the policies we offer at MTMS. It is the goal of our staff to work with you to create a rich learning environment for all students. Student success is a shared responsibility between all stakeholders. Mackinaw Trail Middle School in association with Cadillac Area Public Schools has a proud tradition of excellence in the academics, arts, and athletics. The key to this success is the strong partnership between the parents, community and school.  We provide enriching learning experiences in the classroom and continued learning opportunities beyond the school walls. The faculty and staff believe that when students are engaged, challenged and supported, all students will be successful. We offer students robust learning opportunities to participate in elective classes where students can explore their interests and highlight their talents. We also offer after school opportunities such as tutoring, Robotics, Girls on the Run, and Youth Fit.

At Mackinaw Trail Middle School, we are committed to maximizing the potential of each student.  We understand that the middle school years can be challenging for our students, and we work hard to ensure that every student receives a personalized education that focuses on social, emotional and academic growth. We have incorporated a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program to highlight student success. Part of PBIS is defining a clear set of expectations for all learners and then celebrating student and school success with FUN and ENGAGING assemblies that focus on the climate and culture. Success is everywhere at MTMS.
